B5

Pantothenic Acid

A B vitamin that helps generate energy from carbohydrates, fats and protein.

Pantothenic Acid

Best known for its hydrating, soothing, and moisturizing abilities.

What is Pantothenic Acid?

Also called vitamin B5 is one of the most important vitamins for human life. It is one of eight B vitamins, necessary for making blood cells, and it helps you convert the food you eat into energy.

Health Benefits

Supports cell reproduction and replication, and maintains skin health.

In hair products, B5 can help add volume and sheen. It’s also said to improve the texture of hair that is damaged by styling or chemicals.

The form of pantothenic acid called pantethine helps lower total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL or “bad”) cholesterol, and triglyceride levels.

Why is Pantothenic Acid important?

Pantothenic acid is involved in the production of cholesterol and hormones, as well as in making essential fats. As if all that wasn’t enough, red blood cells need pantothenic acid to make heme, the part of the cell that ferries oxygen throughout the entire body. Proper cell reproduction and replication are also dependent on pantothenic acid.
